Read the NFC chip
The app reads the electronic passport chip and retrieves the identity data and high-quality portrait stored in the document.

An optional live selfie is compared with the portrait from the passport chip directly on the user's device.

The verified result is returned securely to the ID Scan platform and can be retrieved through the portal or API.
Electronic passport verification
NFC passport verification using the document chip
Modern electronic passports contain an NFC chip with identity information, document details and a digital portrait. ID Scan reads this chip after the machine-readable zone has been scanned.
Reading the chip provides more reliable information than taking only a photograph of the document. It also allows the app to perform cryptographic document checks supported by the passport.
